Job summary:

As an Automation & AI Product Owner You will be responsible for defining, developing, and scaling the enterprise portfolio of automation and artificial intelligence products across Rolls-Royce Group Business Services (GBS). This role leads the identification, design, and delivery of automation and GenAI use cases that improve service efficiency, enhance user experience, and enable the next generation of intelligent operations.

As a core member of the Product team, the Automation & AI Product Owner partners with IT, GBS and CI/PEX teams to embed AI and automation into workflows, analytics, and virtual experiences. This includes managing the product backlog, governing responsible AI use, and continuously improving automation maturity across GBS service lines.

What You will be doing:

  • Own the Automation and AI product portfolio within the GBS Service Management ecosystem.
  • Define product vision, roadmap, and success measures aligned with business priorities and ServiceNow strategy.
  • Build and maintain a robust backlog of automation and GenAI use cases, prioritised by value, feasibility, and risk.
  • Translate business problems into AI- and automation-driven solutions that reduce effort, increase accuracy, and enhance experience.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of automation and AI solutions across GBS, including design, testing, deployment, and adoption.
  • Coordinate with developers and business analysts to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions.
  • Lead responsible AI and automation governance within GBS, ensuring compliance with ethical, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish standards for AI model transparency, auditability, and explainability.
  • Partner with GBS functional leads (People, Finance, Procurement, IT) to identify high-impact opportunities for automation and AI.
  • Act as the bridge between technical teams and business users ensuring business value and technical feasibility remain aligned.
  • Implement monitoring and feedback mechanisms to track performance and learning outcomes of deployed AI models.
  • Benchmark against industry trends to identify emerging technologies and best practices for intelligent automation.

Position qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in automation, AI, or digital product management within enterprise or GBS settings.
  • 2+ years managing automation portfolios, AI initiatives, or digital products with measurable ROI.
  • Proven experience implementing automation or AI solutions on enterprise platforms (ServiceNow, UiPath, Microsoft, or similar).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow’s GenAI capabilities (Now Assist, Predictive Intelligence, Virtual Agent) and their integration patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to govern and scale automation initiatives across multiple business functions.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, developers and enterprise architects.
  • Background in ITIL-based or shared services environments.
  • Certifications: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (AI/Automation Engine), Agile Product Owner (CSPO), AI Ethics / Responsible AI, or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GenAI, machine learning and intelligent workflow automation.
  • Familiar with ServiceNow AI/Automation Engine, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI principles, model governance, and data privacy.
  • Skilled at translating complex AI concepts into value-based outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.
